
Keven Erickson
Born in Luxembourg, Keven Erickson studied art at lycée technique des arts et métiers, then moved to the United Kingdom to study photography at Solent University in Southampton (BA, 2003). After graduating, he lived in London, then in Krakow, Poland, where he gained valuable experience in the industry. He has been based in Luxembourg since 2010. He has also taught a photography course at theNational Adult Education Centre and led photography workshops.He also works for the Photothèque de la Ville de Luxembourg.
This short documentary film is a personal journey to Marhaň, Slovakia, where Keven’s great-great-grandmother Anna began her life before emigrating to America in 1883. Guided by a family manuscript and surrounded by the landscapes that shaped her youth, Keven search not only for her story, but for an understanding of the patterns and feelings that echo through his family to this day. It is a meditation on migration, belonging, and the quiet ways the past continues to live within us.
