"My Echo, My Shadow and Me", 45 young people were involved. From October 2021 to January 2022, a small group of youth participated in the first round of workshops, also aimed at their training for SPEX facilitators. They helped me run the second round of workshops from February to June 2022. The workshops were held in person at the University of Luxemburg, Maison du Savoir, on the SPEX online platform, on Zoom, on a Whatsapp group and in individual sessions, both in person and online. We also went out on location to take pictures. Participants were from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Germany, Luxemburg, Portugal, Finland and France. The project brought together young people from entirely different cultures but with a similar way of thinking and at least one crucial thing in common: all of them wanted to express their authentic feelings freely. [...] On most Saturdays from February to June, we met at the University in Belval to collaboratively produce new pictures in the photo studio I set up, to work on the images' multiple perceptions and talk about their projects. Most participants were amazed to discover that we could see so many things in a portrait, and we had many discussions on self-image and social media. Each of them had a different experience, approach and process, which was very interesting.
